Dilworth

Located just minutes south of Uptown, near Charlotte’s South End, Dilworth was named after Edward Dilworth Latta and fashions itself as Charlotte’s original “streetcar suburb”. In 1891, the first electric streetcar was built to provide transportation to and from this small suburb. In 1893, D.A. Tompkins built and opened Atherton Cotton Mill which helped spur the growth of this new and exciting area. Soon after, a mill village of small homes was constructed to house the early workers in the mill.

Over the years, Dilworth has grown in to one of Charlotte’s premier neighborhoods. Beautiful renovations which remained true to Dilworth’s historic past have made this area a stunning and desirable place to live...all within minutes of uptown.
